Question:

How long does the dye last for. We have a one day event and only want it to be red for one day? How can we return the bond to normal? Thanks R

There is no definitive answer to this question as strong sunlight and rainfall both have an effect on the dye.
The Sun will fade the dye and rainfall will dilute it.
Usually Hydra Red dye lasts upto 2-3 months.
And if you want to decolour your pond water, simply do the water change.

Question:

I wish to change the colour of my pond water. Is red dye strong enough to cover the present shade of the water and change it to red?

Water colour after adding the dye is dependent upon the original water colour. If you are using the same colour dye as the previous shade, subsequent colouring would require lesser colourant quantity. If you wish to choose a different shade for your pond next time, it is advisable that you wait till the original colour fades away. You may also carry out partial water change to reduce the colour effect in the water and then apply new pond colourant shade.
